An extreme sport is defined as an activity that is perceived to have a high level of inherent danger. They often include speed, height, and a high level of physical prowess. Specialized gear and spectacular stunts are soon to follow.
In Sandpoint, it's almost criminal to not enjoy the outdoors and participate in extreme sports around the area. Some of these activities are so popular that an entire page is dedicated to them under our summer or winter activities pages (mountain biking and snowmobiling come to mind). Located at Nature Trail in Coeur d' Alene, just a 45 minute drive from Sandpoint, Tubb's Hill is covered with many trails leading to private swim holes and areas for cliff jumping. Be sure to check it out one afternoon with a friend. The is beautiful for an afternoon lunch adventure.
Located at 1000 Schweitzer Mountain road in Sandpoint, this aptly named spot provides plenty of entertainment to enthusiasts of the popular sport. There is one speed ball field available, as well as food provided at the park, so it is definitely a fun way to spend place the day as you "splat" your way to victory!
We live on a beautiful lake that is vast in size (43 miles) and the fifth deepest in the country (1,158 ft.). Residents of the Sandpoint area already know that in terms of recreation on the water, there is no better place anywhere in the area.
