THIS OCTOBER MARKS BEET AND BASIL’S THIRD ANNUAL COMMUNITY OKTOBERFEST,
and all are invited to attend! Held Sunday, October 13 from 11am to 5pm, this free
family friendly event is the perfect way to enjoy a fall day.
The day’s festivities include oversized outdoor games including Connect Four,
Yahtzee, Jenga and more. There will be a craft area for the kids, and live music will
be playing during the event for all to enjoy. Owner and chef Jessica Vouk will have a
special German Street Food Menu just for the event (think handmade pretzels, pork
schnitzel, as well as bratwurst and some surprises as well), and there will be beer of
course, as they will be pouring six Oktoberfest and German brews inside and at Beet
and Basil’s outside bar.
“The last two years have been fantastic,” says Jeremy Holzapfel, Beet and Basil’s
general manager. “The first year we raised money for the Bonner County Library
expansion. Last year we raised money for Homeless Transition in Sandpoint and the
Food Bank.” Jessica has decided that the Sandpoint Community Center would be this
year’s beneficiary, as 25 percent of all food and drink sales will be donated to support
“Basically, everyone has fun, and we raise money for our community,” says Jeremy.
“This is what Beet and Basil is all about.”
Beet and Basil dedicates a lot of time and energy fundraising for local organizations,
and as Jeremy says, "This is where we like to spend our money, by giving back to our
town. ... Making Sandpoint thrive
