The Festival at Sandpoint celebrates its 33rd annual summer concert series

The Festival at Sandpoint celebrates its 33rd annual summer concert series, August 6-16, showcasing eight nights of music under the stars, on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille, in Sandpoint, Idaho. The season line-up serves up an eclectic line-up of classic favorites and progressive artists with headliners Arlo Guthrie, Ziggy Marley, Vince Gill, Lake Street Dive, Trampled By Turtles, The Devil Makes Three, and Wilco, as well as supporting stars and local favorites including Jonatha Brooke, Maw Band, The Barefoot Movement, Troy Bullock, The Ballroom Thieves, Vetiver and Owen & McCoy.

The Festival season culminates on Sunday, August 16 with the GRAND FINALE CONCERT: “VIVA ITALIA!” featuring the SPOKANE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, conducted by MAESTRO GARY SHELDON. The classical portion of the program will include Roman Carnival Overture by Berlioz, Dance of the Hours by Ponchielli and Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony. Festival fans are also in for a special treat, a world premiere by jazz pianist Vadim Neselovskyi, who will perform at the concert.

Our traditional fireworks finale, made possible by Avista Utilities, will close The Festival at Sandpoint’s 33rd season in spectacular fashion. Gates open early at 4:30 PM for the annual “Taste of the Stars” Wine Tasting, the largest wine event of its kind in the state of Idaho. The wine tasting is complimentary for all concert goers over the age of 21 years. Concert starts at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $39.95 for adults, $10.95 for youth 0 - 18 years.

 

The Festival at Sandpoint has been a major local summer event since 1983. The internationally known concert series is held at Memorial Field in Sandpoint. Concert-goers can sit out on the lawn or in the grandstands and enjoy tasting local food and beverages on "Festival Street."

The non-profit Festival at Sandpoint sells a limited number of season passes to the concert series every year. The music tends to be an eclectic mix of performers and styles. There always is a "family" concert and a classical concert.
